A class action suit filed in Sydney, Australia alleges that Amcor developed anti-competitive strategies by price-fixing and market sharing within the cardboard box industry. The suit claims that Amcor and Visy, another cardboard box manufacturer, agreed to increase prices up to 23 percent to non-contract customers. Approximately 17,000 businesses, mainly fruit and vegetable growers who purchased boxes from the manufacturer at inflated prices, were impacted by the price fixing cartel.
