Consumers filed a class action lawsuit against the technology company regarding 'rootkit' CD copy protection. The CDs were designed to prevent unauthorized copying of Sony music CDs, but it was nearly impossible to remove without corrupting the operating system, and even allowed malicious users to hide their own programs.
