Over 400 Florida homeowners filed a class action lawsuit against the Lauderhill law firm. The lawsuit accused the company of violating the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act. The settlement will pay four Plaza East residents $5,000 each while $75,000 will to go to the estimated 2,500 members of the class. The remaining $155,000 will pay attorney fees and expenses.
