Class action status is being sought in a lawsuit filed against bottle-cap maker Zapata Industries Inc. of Muskogee, Oklahoma on behalf of more than 100 former employees. The suit alleges that the two week notice that the company gave the plaintiffs before closing the plant was inadequate under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act which states that a company must give 60 days notice when closing a plant. The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for lost wages that would have been earned had they been properly notified.
