A class action lawsuit has been filed against Imperial Tobacco Canada Limited on behalf on British Columbian smokers. The suit alleges that the company engaged in deceptive trade practices which are in violation of the Trade Practices Act, in the marketing of their "light" and "mild" cigarette brands. The lawsuit marks the first of its kind in Canada.
