A class action lawsuit has been filed against Thurston County, Washington on behalf of corrections workers. The suit alleges that the county's current payroll system delays overtime payments for too long. Under the current system, an employee submits their timesheet for the pay period running from the 15th of one month to the 15th of the next, and they get paid on the last day of that month for that pay period. Any overtime hours worked in the entire month however, are paid in the next pay period. The suit claims that any overtime worked in a pay period should be paid for in that period.
