A class action lawsuit has been filed against Shell Canada Limited on behalf of all Quebec consumers who purchased Shell Bronze gasoline since March 1, 2001. The suit alleges that an additive was introduced to Shell's Bronze gasoline on March 1, 2001, which left a residue on gas tanks, causing various problems for fuel supply systems. It is estimated that there may be 500,000 Quebecers involved in the class, and the suit is seeking damages in the form of the cost of any repairs to the vehicle, the cost of inspecting and cleaning the gas tanks, exemplary or punitive damages, out-of-pocket expenses, and compensation for loss of time, inconvenience, etc.
This suit was filed against Shell Canada Limited on behalf of 500,000 motorists whose fuel supply systems were damaged since March 1, 2001 due to additives to Shell's Bronze gasoline.
