Sales Agents Seek Class Action Against YTB International

- by

Two former sales agents and sales representatives from the travel company YTB International have filed a type of class action suit against their ex-employer, alleging that the company is an illegal pyramid scheme and it employees an illegal chain referral sales technique in violation of Illinois law.

Recently, California State Attorney General Jerry Brown filed a suit against the company. He called it a gigantic pyramid scheme involving some 140,000 referring travel agents who pay an initial $450 then $50 every month thereafter to sell travel but rarely earn any commissions.

YTB is also under investigation by the Illinois attorney general, and the local chapter of the Better Business Bureau filed a negative report last week on the company.
