The Hospital is accused of inappropriately admitting and overcharging thousands of patients, in a lawsuit that is seeking class action status. The lawsuit alleges breach of contract, breach of implied contractual duties of good faith and fair dealing, unjust enrichment, and breach of fiduciary duty.
Apparently, the hospital systematically admitted patients who could have been helped on an out-patient basis, and then charged patients based on the higher in-patient rates.
The management is also accused of trying to hide this inappropriate behavior.
