San Diego, CA: Official notice to potential Class Members has begun in a consumer fraud class action lawsuit that claims that drug manufacturer Wyeth violated California laws by misrepresenting the benefits and/or failing to disclose the risks of the prescription hormone replacement therapy (HRT) medications Premarin, Prempro, and Premphase.
The United States District Court for the Southern District of California has certified the case as a class action. At this stage, no determination has been made as to which side is right and the case is proceeding to trial. Wyeth denies it did anything wrong and lawyers for the Class will have to prove their claims in Court.
California residents who purchased the drugs in California between January 1995 and January 2003 may be included in the lawsuit, if they were exposed to 1) oral or written statements from Wyeth or from a healthcare provider, or 2) written statements in publications in which Wyeth advertised or that originated from Wyeth, that:
Premarin, Prempro, and/or Premphase lowered cardiovascular, Alzheimers, and/or dementia risk; or Premarin, Prempro, and/or Premphase did not increase breast cancer risk.
To be included in the Class, consumers must also not be claiming any personal injury from the use of Prempro, Premarin, and/or Premphase.
Class Members do not need to do anything to stay in the Class. However, Class Member rights will be affected if they do nothing. Class Members that do not want to be legally bound by what the Court does must exclude themselves from the case by December 19, 2012. Class Members that do not exclude themselves will not be able to sue for any claim relating to the lawsuit. Premain medication is a medication that sneak up to take you out and it did me that way. IM blessed to be here . But it left with a baby in a sense I or we will never will part...Because it left permanent damage..to both lungs..along with scaring. Wear them out Law Firm.

This medication is almost worst than a snake bite it will sneak upon you and put venom in you to take you out before you know it leaving a every changing effect on your new life..

I've taken Premarin ,premo then a different medication then had to have a emergency surgery a cervical an then emgerency hytemcomy had a lot of bleeding an abodomial pain

Was put on Premarin by UCSF MED CENTER in the 1970's and was taken off Premarin after 2000 by Crystal Duncan, M.D. in Yreka, California. After being prescribed the conjugated estrogens I have had 2 heart attacks and 2 open heart surgeries. Have tortuosities in/ on heart muscle and 3 diseased heart valves. Have had an aortic porcine valve replacement. Also, I have memory loss..short and longer term. Was told in the 70s at UC MED CENTER in San Francisco California that the Premarin would significantly reduce chance of having /getting heart disease. What is ironic is that I believed the information given to me, and that I had worked in, and continued to work in 3 hospitals in cardiology! I am currently being worked up by having further and significant cardiac tests. My life has been extremely difficult these many decades! The "unstable angina" is very limiting.
