A discrimination class action lawsuit has been filed against Desert Schools Federal Credit Union in Phoenix, Arizona. The suit claims that the company denied promotions to blacks and nonmembers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints because of their race, religion or both. The suit claims that black and non-Mormon employees were "unfairly excluded" from advancement opportunities, while less-qualified white and/or Mormon employees were promoted. The suit claims that the situation is "outright religious discrimination that cannot be tolerated."
