Chicago, IL: A consumer fraud class action lawsuit has been filed against R.M. & G. Products and Bernheim & Rice, doing business as "Medicus" and "Medicus golf", and which sell golf instructional aids online. The lawsuit alleges that the company charges for "negative option memberships" without disclosing it, and keeps charging for it after customers cancel.
The lawsuit was filed by Robert Klein on behalf of himself and two subclasses of similarly situated individuals who were charged without authorization for Medicus Membership programs. Specifically, the lawsuit claims that Medicus enrolled their customers in a variety of membership programs purportedly offering such services as access to online videos, and discounts at golf courses and thereafter charged customers' credit cards and debit cards (submitted for an entirely different purchase) on a recurring basis.
Adding to the injury, when consumers like Plaintiff attempted to cancel these unwanted memberships, and infact the Defendants agreed to cancel the memberships, the Defendants continued to charge the plaintiffs anyway.
