A settlement has been reached in the class action antitrust lawsuit filed against MasterCard International and VISA U.S.A. by United States merchants. Under the terms of settlement, MasterCard will make ten annual payments of $100 million dollars, with the first year's payment being $125 million dollars, and VISA will pay $2 billion dollars over time, with an initial payment of $25 million dollars.
