Class action status has been granted to a lawsuit filed against Cintas Corp. on behalf of approximately 240 current and former employees at Cintas' San Leandro plant. The suit alleges that the company violated the city of Hayward's living-wage law. The law was enacted in 1999 to ensure fair compensation by stipulating that companies who contract with the city for more than $25,000 in services must agree to provide their employees a living wage, now calculated as at least $9.26 per hour with benefits and $10.71 per hour without benefits.
