A class action lawsuit has been filed against Freidman's Inc., a jewelry chain of 655 stores in 20 states. The chain is being accused of employing racial discrimination against African-Americans in their hiring and promotions policies, as well as sustaining a racially hostile work environment, according to the suit. Plaintiffs in the case may number in the thousands, including past, present and future employees, as well as job applicants.
