Ford Motor Co.
February 20 2008
A class action lawsuit has been filed against the auto manufacturer alleging diesel ambulances are defective. Fire departments across the United States have been experiencing engine problems such as blown gaskets, radiator hoses, and sensors. Various departments have spent tens of thousands of dollars repairing and fixing the rigs each year. The lawsuit was filed in Federal Court in Texas against Ford Motor Co.
Fire departments have had to resort to using back up ambulances and borrow non-Ford ambulances from other departments while their Ford rigs were in the shop. The Ford six liter trucks were manufactured between 2004 and 2006, and their warranties will be up at the end of 2008.

The 2008 Ford 6.4 was no better. Catastrophic engine failure of the 6.4 because of regen system and other poorly designed components.. Repairs cost beyond what the trucks are worth. Ford service mechanics are admitting seeing a rash of bearing failures, especially in the early 2008 models. This should not happen, especially when mileage is less than 150,000 no matter the age of the truck.

My tow truck (with ambulance package charging system) was in the shop 97 days for two motors. Ford would not pay down time. I have paid more than $20,000 dollars and it still runs bad or won't start. I have asked for relief but Ford will do nothing.
