Class action status has been certified in a suit filed against Easy Heat Inc. of Indiana on behalf of approximately 4,000 homes, businesses and cabins. The suit claims that the company rushed their heating systems into the market without adequate testing, and then refused to properly fix the defective systems. Plaintiffs are estimating that the company may be liable for more than $100 million dollars in damages. The plaintiffs in the suit are consumers from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa who had Easy Heat systems installed from 1996 to 2000, with seventy-two percent of the class originating from northern Minnesota.
