Chico's FAS, Inc.
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Chico's FAS, Inc. on behalf of employees. The suit is in regards to the clothing retailers policy of requiring employees to purchase and wear the company's clothing as a condition of their employment. The plaintiffs in the suit claim that the policy, which is known as "wardrobing" in the retail industry, is in violation of the California Labor Code and California's Unfair Competition laws. These laws clearly state that if distinctive clothing is a requirement for employment, it is deemed a uniform and must be provided by the employer.
