Santa Clara, CA: Building materials manufacturer CertainTeed, is facing a consumer fraud class action lawsuit alleging it misrepresented its shingle products.
The lawsuit, filed by home owners Paula Wetzel and Joel Wetzel in Superior Court of the State of Washington for King County, claims the plaintiffs were caused to pay an artificially inflated price for their home and then spend money to replace or repair the defective shingles and remedy any structural damage caused by CertainTeed.
Specifically, the Wetzels assert CertainTeed designed, manufactured, marketed and sold defective shingles, misrepresented that its shingles are free from manufacturing defects and refused to repair or replace defective shingles.
The Wetzels are represented by attorneys Albert H. Kirby of Sound Justice Law Group PLLC in Seattle and Catherine J. Fleming and Brad J. Moore of Stritmatter Kessler Whelan Koehler Moore Kahler, also in Seattle. The case is filed in Superior Court of the State of Washington for King County Case number 2:16-cv-01160.
