A class action lawsuit has been filed against the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) on behalf of the Pension Plan for Employees of the BDC. The suit is charging breach of fiduciary duty, unjust enrichment, and breach of contract in their management of the well over $100 million of surplus assets in the Pension Plan. The suit further alleges that the BDC put their own interests ahead of those of the pensioners, as well as using contributions made by class members for uses which benefited the BDC and its current employees.
