Applebee's accused of misrepresenting Weight Watchers menu items
June 4 2008
Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grill has been accused of duping patrons who choose items from it's Weight Watchers menu, thinking they were eating more healthily.
The class action lawsuit alleges that the advertised calorie, fat and fiber content shown on the menu is unreliable and inaccurate. For example, the Tortilla Chicken Appetizer, advertised as containing 13 grams of fat, was found to contain 21.4 grams of fat. The Garlic Herb Chicken was advertised to contain 6 grams of fat, and was found to contain 18.
