An $11 million class action lawsuit has been filed against Agropur cooperative, which owns the milk manufacturer Natrel, on behalf of consumers who became ill after drinking Sealtest brand chocolate milk that was contaminated with a cleaning chemical. Close to 12,000 one-litre Sealtest cartons of 1 per cent chocolate milk were recalled on February 2, 2005 after a Toronto man went to hospital feeling ill.

I have been using Natrel 2% milk in the carton, which I mostly purchase at Costco for a very long time. Over the past couple of weeks, the taste has changed. At first I thought the company had changed the ingredients, so continued taking figuring I was going to change brands as the taste is very unpleasant. This morning was the worst! The taste was so pungent and horrible, I simply poured the entire carton down the drain. I return the 4 2L cartons to Costco where they filled out a special form and refunded me.
This is not enough! I've had stomach discomfort and headaches on & off all week. Many people have returned this very product and we seem to feel it is some type of chemical. I plan to go public with this problem so that others will not be affected!
